Remeshing/Kitbashing - controlling the resultant mesh & texture output names
AnsweredHi just wondering using the "pipeline plugin for Maya" if there is a way to control what name is assigned to the resultant mesh when remeshing IE: combining several mesh into one. In your example here "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBHm_CxQ7HM" & in our own testing we don't seem to have any control over the resultant mesh name or the texture file names that are generated as a result of the remeshing process. The resultant mesh name is something like "resmesh_6_meshes_instaLOD" ?
Is there a way to assign a meaningful name to the resultant mesh output & textures that are generated using this workflow ?
Cheers

Hello,
Currently, there is no built in way to specify the name of the output objects of an operation that creates a derivative mesh object result.
However, you could use InstaLOD for Maya's built-in callbacks to rename the object after the operation. Here is an article on how to use the callbacks.
